Navigate through April Showers the right way!
Lately we’ve all been washed away. This is supposed to be the rainy season, and Mother Nature is absolutely following the rules! At least we have the beautiful summer flowers to look forward to. Speaking of the rain, how have you been holding up? I personally forget to take certain precautions when it comes to protecting my home during rough weather. There are some things that everyone should know when it comes to April Showers, especially when you live in hurricane-accustomed Louisiana.
First and foremost, you should always be checking on the exterior of your house. Getting ahead of flaws on the roof, windows, and doors can make all the difference in a storm. Another step you can take is to tie down or bring inside all outside furniture. If a large wind gust were to come, furniture getting picked up can put your house at risk for damage. Lastly, keep your gutters clean! Gutters are essential for water flow, and a build-up of leaves and other debris can block that flow and cause flooding around your house.
In the end, taking care of your home in the middle of this rainy season is essential, and not that hard! Don’t let this nasty weather get the best of you!
