We have a full calendar this month!
June already! How are we halfway through 2024? It seems like I was just throwing the confetti for 2020 (oh dear what a year).
This year, June is actually super busy! First of all, big shout out to our #1 man, Corey Martin– his birthday is the 8th! But if you want to know how old he is, you’ll have to ask him yourself. I shall not be getting in trouble on the blog 🤐
Other things going on are Father's Day and Juneteenth! Both of which bring sentimental feelings and a good time! Father’s Day actually became a national holiday a whopping 58 years after Mother’s Day was official. But don’t worry dads, we love you just as much!
Juneteenth originated a little before, in 1865. Juneteenth is often misunderstood as a holiday to celebrate black history. But, it actually marks the day that the last slaves were freed! Two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was ensued, the very last enslaved African Americans were freed in Galveston, Texas.
