Staying Safe on Halloween

Halloween. Even those of us who hate it can still have so much fun. There is so much you can do with Halloween! Trick or Treating, costume parties, a deep dive into Halloween history, scary movies, you name it. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to splurge on all the best candy. But while we love the candy, it is better to be safe than sorry. Follow these tips…

When children are out Trick or Treating, it is best if they don’t eat the candy as they walk around. Wait to inspect it all well when you are back at home. Also, it is better to take candy that is commercially wrapped. But if you have a nice neighbor that made something like cute candy bags, it is ok to accept it as long as a parent or guardian searches for red flags before eating. Things to look for when analyzing the candy brought home are tears or little holes in the wrapper, discoloration, the expiration date, and anything else that looks unprofessional or off. Don’t be scared to throw away that delicious candy if anything is wrong. You will thank yourself later!
